About Us
GenetiVision was founded in 2006 in Houston, Texas and is fully owned and operated by Drs. Graeme Mardon and Rui Chen, who have extensive published research experience conducting Drosophila genetics. Chen and Mardon saw a need for a new company that can offer a unique combination of features important for Drosophila researchers. First, we must dependably produce transgenic flies at low cost so that laboratories actually save money by outsourcing this work to us. Second, we must provide superior technical support that is possible only from investigators who are currently conducting Drosophila genetics. Chen and Mardon continue to work as principle investigators in Drosophila genetics and both currently have active and well-funded laboratories at Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. Finally, we must keep up-to-date with the latest technological developments so that our services and support are second to none. For example, we were the first company to offer site-specific integration and remain the leader in this area with our ability to successfully obtain insertions of constructs more than 100 kb in length. We are fully committed to keeping abreast with all new technologies in Drosophila transgenesis and continually review and update our services to bring the highest quality and innovative products to the market.
Genetivision is currently supported by the NIH SBIR grant to generate a new collection of conditional loss- and gain-of-function alleles. The financial conflict of interest policy at GV can be found at here
