1.0 Mapping and Balancing

Want your transgenics mapped, balanced and ready to go? No problem - we can do that. For PhiC31 injections, we will balance one or two independent transgenic insertions over either FM7, CyO, or TM3/TM6B, depending upon which docking stock you have chosen. This service costs $30.

For P-element insertions, we will map and balance at least three independent insertions. Since mapping adds considerable time and effort, this service costs $100.

2.0 Insertion verification by PCR

We can verify site-specific transgene insertion at the expected position by PCR so you know the flies you receive are the right ones. An agarose gel image of the verification PCR results will be sent to you via email and included with the transgenic flies we ship to you.

3.0 Virgin Collection

Do you want virgin flies ready for crossing to your G0 flies? We will collect and ship you virgin flies just when your G0 flies are ready! We will collect and send 100 virgin flies 10 days after we collect your larvae or at the time you specify. The price of this service is $60. We offer the following genotypes:

4.0Drosophila Stock Maintenance

Tired of maintaining valuable stocks that you only use occastionally? We will keep them for you! We will maintain your stocks in two copies at monthly rates as low as $4 per stock. We will send you a copy whenever you need it to free up your time and mind to conduct real research.

5.0 Fly Food Service

Need fly food? We have it, both in vials and in bottles. Forget the fly food kitchen and never worry about running short of fly food again during the holidays. We offer affordable pricing for vials ($30 per 100) and bottles ($30 per 25) of standard fly food.

6.0 Other genetics services
